Go behind the striking looks of this year’s hottest stars and meet the 25 most powerful stylists in The Hollywood Reporter’s style issue.
We’ve all gotten lost in the pages of fashion magazines and been left wondering how in the world those celebs got so absolutely beautiful. While we hear rumors of plastic surgery echoing from the pages of celebrity magazines, getting the skinny on all those designer duds they’re donning is another story. Thanks to the likes of Rachel Zoe and her ubiquitous Bravo reality show, “The Rachel Zoe Project,” we’re all privy to a little education on names like “Louis” and “Karl.”
Further adding to that lesson, The Hollywood Reporter‘s style issue, which came out March 14, ranked the 25 most powerful Hollywood stylists who are making a splash on the red carpet, as well as the stars who can’t get dressed without them. Four of the fashionistas got their own cover alongside a famous client. But don’t look for Zoe’s name (ranked No.1 last year) to be included on the list. With the making of her own successful clothing line, Lady Zoe is no longer eligible for the honor. It just goes to show that this business of styling is much more than simply throwing clothes onto perfectly sculpted backs.
One of those who did make the cut and managed to score her own cover was Jeanne Yang with client Katie Holmes. So happy are the two women in their fashionable relationship that they started a line of their own, aptly called Holmes & Yang. New mom Charlize Theron is also featured with stylist Leslie Fremar. Together, they’ve created some of the awards seasons’ most memorable looks.
Relative newcomers to red carpet style and “The Help” costars Jessica Chastain and Emma Stone have weathered the media’s critical eye beautifully. They can thank their stylists for that! Stone has been working with Petra Flannery to make a a modern yet feminine mark on the carpet. Elizabeth Stewart, Jessica Chastain’s stylist, has helped the redhead create a wide range of looks. Stewart tells the magazine that her job is really finding a “larger-than-life dress for a larger-than-life moment.” And a memorable moment at that.
