The awards-season grand finale is right around the corner with the 89th Academy Awards on Feb. 26, 2017! For those who are fortunate to have their pulse on Hollywood, as reported by the many celebrity and entertainment magazines we support, the buzz is especially exciting around awards season. While you can read the complete list of 2017 Oscar nominees, we’ve also made a few of our own predictions. Continue reading
This fall’s TV premieres promise to have us on the edge of our seats! You’ve been waiting patiently for the resolution to the Season 6 finale cliffhanger of “The Walking Dead,” and you can’t wait to see your favorite celebrities strut their stuff on “Dancing with the Stars.” Well, your wait is almost over! Here are highlights of what’s to come.
The film that may finally get Leonardo DiCaprio his Oscar is up for several Oscars itself – a dozen, in fact, including best picture. DiCaprio’s performance is just one of several aspects that make The Revenant not only a must-see, but also an award contender.
For those who haven’t seen it for themselves yet – or for all those movie-goes who wondered, “Who is that guy? What have I seen him in before?” – here’s a rundown to prep you for the Oscars.
The Oscars are almost here and on everyone’s mind is this: Will it finally be Leonardo DiCaprio’s year?
With his raw and stunning performance in The Revenant, plus a diverse resume that includes The Wolf of Wall Street, The Great Gatsby, Django Unchained, Inception, Catch Me If You Can, and, yes, Titanic, DiCaprio has secured himself a reputation as one of Hollywood’s greats.
And we can’t get enough of him. When we’re not watching his movies, we’re following him across the covers and pages of our favorite magazines, catching every glimpse into the superstar’s life.
According to IMDB, DiCaprio has been on a magazine cover 113 times, and has been interviewed and written about in Entertainment Weekly, Time, GQ, Rolling Stone, People, Us, American Cinematographer, Esquire, TV Guide, Vanity Fair and more. And he’s been in plenty of international magazines, too.
Clearly, he’s got our attention and we’ll all be waiting to hear the verdict on February 28th.
But no matter what happens at this year’s Oscars, we’ll still love Leo for all that he is and all that he’s given us. Please join me in an ode to Mr. DiCaprio, not through verse, but through gifs.
Oh, Leo. With Titanic, you splashed onto the scene. One flip of your hair was all it took to make us fall in love with you.
But like an iceberg, your performance in Titanic was just the tip of your stunning career. You are truly a man of many hats.
Performance after performance, you’ve showed us what it’s like to fly.
You’ve made us laugh
You’ve made us cry
We’ve felt ALL the feels.
You’ve got the moves.
And no one can say “white cake” quite like you.
So here’s to you, Leo.
You do you, and never quit.
The recent birth and naming of Christina Aguilera’s daughter Summer Rain, presumably inspired by watching the weather forecast, has motivated us at Magazines.com to come up with a list of the most unusual celebrity baby names in Hollywood. While a name like North West has already had its fair share of attention in the news, there are plenty of other one-of-a-kind baby names coming out of Hollywood.
While it might be every little boy’s dream to become a pirate, Pirate Houseman Davis gets to live out this fantasy every day – for the rest of his life. If he ever dresses as a pirate for Halloween, he’s already a step ahead of other swashbuckling, hook-handed trick-or-treaters, and he can thank parents Jonathan and Deven Davis for this foresight.
While there is certainly nothing wrong with “Harper,” which is a great name, having a middle name that can be transcribed as a numerical figure pretty much makes up for having a cool first name. The Beckhams decided to name daughter Harper Seven Beckham after the father’s football jersey number. Go figure.
Michael Jackson apparently believed that “blanket” was the perfect name for his newborn son. Perhaps he looked at his child covered up in a comfy blanket and was hit by inspiration. Who really knows?
Actress and musician Shannyn Sossamon and Dallas Clayton thought that a unique first or middle name alone was not enough. Little Audio Science will never have to share a name with anyone else in school – or in any other situation.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin of Coldplay named their baby girl after a piece of fruit. While apples are more reminiscent of the produce section than a little girl, little Apple’s parents definitely showed their creative sides when naming their daughter.
Which name do you think is the worst? Are there any other weird celebrity baby names that deserve a spot on our list?
