- UK Harpar’s Bazaar gets a little bling: I think this cover is awesome. I don’t know what sort of production nightmare it was to pull off, but I want one in a bad way. A quick scan of eBay reveals none for sale from across the pond.
- Jandos Rothstein turns a critical eye to the New Republic‘s new design, but more specifically their most recent cover: Got to agree with this writer that the illustration used for that story is striking and makes a significant impact. In fact, it took his explaining it to me for me to know what I was looking at, despite the "cliche" subject matter.
- I agree with a lot of things written in this piece about the demise of Jane magazine, but their lack of visibility on the internet is not one those. Jane suffered from riding the fence syndrome–too lame and bland for edgy alterna-chicks, yet too quirky and irreverent for those advertisers that pay da bills.
- A touching tribute to a man who made The New Yorker what it is (or isn’t, depending on who you ask) today. Very informative little blog post that illustrates this writer’s love of the magazine.
