Fall into Winter Fashion with Life & Style Expert Moll Anderson

This time of year it is hard not to completely fall for all of the wonderful fall and winter fashions. How could you not? Magazines and stores are gearing up for the buzz of the holidays and all the shopping that follows along. The fashion forward are itching to break out their latest purchases and show off their favorite winter trends.

Fall into Winter Fashion

A bold pop of color, such as this pink scarf, is a perfect addition to give an outdoor table that "WOW" factor.

The style forecast shows shades of rich Bordeaux, enticing enough to make you relax with a glass of red wine and sip away until dawn. Coloring the pages of your favorite fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and InStyle, shades of deep scarlet are gracing everything from eyelids to accessories. Impress your family and friends with gifts inspired from the pages of these glossy magazines. In these hard economic times, sometimes we forget to do something special for ourselves. Go ahead and add a touch of scarlet to your wardrobe. You deserve to wear something that makes you feel ravishing; it is not about extravagance, it’s about simply doing the best with what you have.

If you’re not comfortable dressing head to toe in such a provocative deep color, try a razzle-dazzle scarf in a tone that makes your heart race. It’s a great way to experiment with adding some color into your life. And by investing in a new beautiful scarf, you have not only invested in a new accessory, (think outside the box) you can let the scarf dress your table as a runner instead of hiding it away in a drawer.

I used the same bright scarf to create a sensual Moroccan table for two which is featured in my book, The Seductive Home™.

What’s cozy, warm, and a very trendy statement piece? Fur. Adorning everything from handbags to coats, short fox and bold dyed furs in every color of the rainbow are this season’s luxury must-have.

And there is always faux fur. Thanks to Rachel Zoe, some seriously amazing faux fur vests have hit the runway as well as the streets. Even a pair of fur earmuffs or fur-lined boots will bring a blast of “wow” and make you feel fabulous.

I want to know what you’re most excited about wearing this winter season! Is it a new accessory, a classic sweater, new snow boots? Share your thoughts with me!

What are you waiting for?

    Moll,
What is your must-buy fall item for someone in their 20′s and on a major budget? Also, I love how you used the scarf on the table. I am always looking for inexpensive ways to change-up my home, what are some other tips you recommend?

  • KNH

Love it! I’m so inspired by your suggestion of using rich colors this winter! Can’t wait to hear more!

What’s the best way to wear the popular fall trend of a short-sleeved sweater dress in this chilly weather without ruining the look with a plain long sleeve under-shirt?? I hate to be cold, but still want to be stylish!

  • HayleyMartin87

Boots, boots and more boots! I love all of the details on boots this year and adore the riding boot trend. Also looking to find the perfect faux fur vest to complete my winter wardrobe! Great blog Moll- keep ‘em coming!

I understand your dilemma with a short-sleeved sweater dress. Designers are calling for a long sleeved crisp white shirt! If you run hot natured like me, you should layer! I always love to grab my go to black leather jacket and add a cashmere scarf. You can easily remove it if you get too warm. Layering is a stylishly great look!

    Lindsey,
You must buy something animal print! Depending on your budget it can be anything from a scarf to a jacket. Not only will you look chic but you will also feel seductive.
You can transform your home with a just a quick flip of the paint brush. I have always said, “You get more mileage out of a can of paint, than any other decorating tool!” You can completely change the vibe of a space simply by rolling on a brilliant tone to a single wall… I also love dimmer switches and fresh flowers. You can’t believe what flowers do to brighten a space. Stop on your way home today and grab a bunch in a color that speaks to your soul.

You should pick up Cosmopolitan! They have a great suggest on where to find a faux fur vest. I’ve attached some images here so you can check it out!

I love this faux fur vest! I found it in the November issue of Lucky magazine. It looks like these vests will be one of winter’s must-haves.

  • Danethcarlino

I love the pop of color idea, Moll. I’m not bold enough to dress in scarlet from head to toe, but oh, a scarlet handbag makes me giddy! Great blog and I’m so glad to find you.

We’re all about the boots this season. Moll, fantastic blog. Will you be a regular here? We heard about the blog on Twitter.

Fall is my favorite time of year and your post was delicious, Moll. But, now thanks to you, I’m going right out to buy something scarlet. I’m blaming you when the bill comes in! Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you so much for joining in and participating in my blog. Yes, I am a regular! I am here to answer everything from questions about your home, home design, real life situations, or family.

I LOVE boots! Booties, rain boots, boots that are mid-calf, boots to the knee and even boots way over the knee. This season is so exciting because everything goes as far as boots. If you’re just starting out on building your boot collection this season, here are three must-haves that are my go to at home and on travel.

I have found the ultimate in rain boots, so go ahead and put them on your wish list.
#1 They are black, have a heel and are GUCCI! Most important they are totally not insanely priced at $280.00.
#2 If that still is too steep then no worries, I have found a fashionable alternative by Sam Edelman for $90.00.
#3 If your re-grouping the family budget, then go for the Zetta rain boot at Target for $29.99.

For the over the knee “Dream” selection in a black boot is…
#1 Alyona by GUCCI for $2450.00.
#2 For my wake-up-from-the-dream version I found a great boot from ALDO for $110.00.
#3 My fab find of the day version is from Target for just $49.99!

  • Missy Stover

Speaking of rain boots, I found these fun ones and thought of your ‘southern roots’. Not exactly high fashion, but fun nonetheless!
