“Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner recently immortalized themselves on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Unless you’ve been living under the proverbial rock, you know that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn–Part 1″ opens tonight at midnight. Between appearances by the cast on TV and on the cover of the November 25 issue of Entertainment Weekly plus the well covered premieres in Los Angeles and London this week, it’s kind of hard to miss.
And for some Twi-hards, it was no doubt a near-religious experience to witness “The Twilight Saga” franchise stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner laying hands on Hollywood two weeks ago, cementing their icon status in, well, cement at a ceremony on Nov. 3.
The heartthrobs, ranging in age from 19 to 24 (yes, Lautner is now legal) were honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a hand, foot and signature imprint ceremony outside of Grauman’s Chinese Theater. The whole experience left the always shy Stewart nearly speechless. At the ceremony, Stewart said, “I think this is the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life … This is insane that I’m doing this right now and I think these guys should start talking now.”
Saving Stewart was a composed Lautner, looking calm, cool, and collected as he channeled a younger Tom Cruise. “There are a few moments that mean so much–it’s really even hard to explain–and this is definitely one of those,” he said.
Fans’ screams reached a fever pitch as Pattinson stepped to the mic, confessing, “This is incredibly scary. … This is such an incredible honor. How young we are, it’s kind of ridiculous and amazing at the same time.”
The ceremony came as a precursor to the publicity madness the trio and the rest of their co-stars have already embarked upon for the fourth installment of the franchise that made them household names. The highly-anticipated film promises a wedding between Pattinson’s character Edward and Stewart’s Bella as well as a honeymoon, love scenes, epic fight scenes and the pregnancy and birth of their vampire/human baby.
