Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert Sweep Top Awards at CMAs

Good Housekeeping November 2012 coverFor several years now, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have been making beautiful music together, but last night’s CMAs established them as country music’s new power couple.

There’s a new power couple in country music, so affirmed by the Country Music Awards held last night in Nashville. Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert—each for the third time—won Male and Female Vocalist of the Year.

But they made history by becoming the first married couple to win the CMA for Song of the Year. “Over You,” the song for which they won the award, was inspired by the tragic death of Blake’s brother in a car accident in 1990.

Since the crooning pair met, courted and married, they’ve been all over magazine covers—industry, lifestyle, health, celebrity publications, you name it. And after their star-studded performance at the CMAs, here’s a look back at the magazine covers the power couple has graced just this year.

February was a big month for Blake, appearing on both Rolling Stone and Redbook magazines. He split time with his co-judges from “The Voice” on the music magazine, but had the women’s magazine cover all to himself.

He was deemed one of “America’s Sexiest Men” by Redbook and even discussed details about his life with Miranda inside the magazine.

Miranda appeared on the cover of June’s Self magazine and this month’s Good Housekeeping magazine. On the fitness magazine, the blonde beauty talked about the importance of being toned and healthy, rather than super skinner.

Of course, she dishes on her marriage to Blake in both, but in Good Housekeeping, she opens up about the financial struggles of her childhood and what she learned from it.

And while she says she’s flattered that other women find her husband attractive, she reminds them she’s taken, but she does share his favorite recipe—Peanut Butter Pie—just in time for Thanksgiving. Yum!
