Moll Anderson Seductive Holiday Table for Two

Moll Anderson Presents the Luxury of Seductive Living

Fall basket

Your container doesn't have to be just a basket. Be creative!

You probably spend an enormous amount of time and energy each year taking care of your family and buying presents for your loved ones. But, do you ever stop to spend a little time doing something special just for you? If not, this is the year to start! Give yourself a gift—the gift of living your most seductive life.

Christmas and Hanukkah are always special because you go all out to ensure that everything is perfect for your family. These holidays create the perfect taste of living a seductive life; candles are lit, flowers are arranged and your home is decorated beautifully. All the elements come together to capture a home filled with love—so why don’t you do this all year-round? Think about it. Isn’t this the time you decide to have friends over and entertain because your home looks the best it has ever looked? Remember this feeling of pride in your space and infuse this into your home all year long.

Now, think about what it was that made your home feel so fabulous? Was it the glimmer of your home being lit by candles? Or could it have been the flowers that made your space feel luxurious? Discover the essentials that made your home feel so amazing and seductive.

Poinsettia Basket

Fill your container with multiple small poinsettias if you can't find the larger plants.

Designate a nice-sized container to always put flowers in. For the month ahead, fill this container with poinsettias, the red is bold and festive! As the seasons change, adapt your flower choice: for spring showcase tulips; and hydrangeas are splendid for summer. I used deep yellow fall calla lilies for the month of October and as the holidays roll around, I switched the flowers out for poinsettias. It’s a foolproof, no dirt, no mess and no fuss solution to always having a beautiful arrangement to greet you. Whatever flowers you love, fill your container or basket with those. These small changes will make all the difference and you will in turn begin to live a seductive life 365 days out of the year.

Creating this gift just for you is actually a great thing for everyone. The happier you are, the happier the people around you are. I promise it will be the best gift you’ve ever given yourself!

What are you waiting for?

Holiday Shopping with Moll Anderson

Moll Anderson Offers Stress-Free Holiday Shopping Advice

The month of December is almost upon us and I’m betting some of you out there haven’t even started your holiday shopping! There is no need to panic, but I do suggest going ahead and simply starting to put a gift list together. Don’t load your brain with negative thoughts about what you can’t do—start with what you can do!

Moll Anderson Christmas closet

Include all the essentials in your closet such as ribbon, scissors, tape and wrapping paper!

For instance, you know you’ll be buying Christmas presents for at least family and close friends, right? How many times have you been in a store (and I’m speaking to myself, here, too) and seen perfect Christmas gifts at a great price, but figured it’s too early to make those purchases? We have these ideas in our heads that it’s not time yet for Christmas buying, so we wait until the last minute and then throw ourselves into major panic and chaos. Some of you out there feed on that—you don’t know what to do unless you are miserable! You know who you are.

Take my word, you will always find the best deals when you aren’t limiting yourself to a shopping deadline. Keep your eyes open throughout the entire year and you will never be in a bind again! Start a gift closet or drawer and begin to add your purchases as you buy them. Include gold or silver wrapping paper and wrap as you buy to save time in the future. Don’t forget to label your presents; we don’t want any grandmothers ending up with a nephew’s gift!

leopart print journal

These fun leopard-print journals are a great seductive gift.

Granted, there are some relatives or friends that it seems impossible to shop for! They never like the clothes you pick out or you never know whether they use that cool gadget you got them last year. So, this year I challenge you to think outside that perfectly wrapped box of yours. Enhance the lives you care about the most with a more seductive gift this year. Think something with a hint of cheetah, like these fun journals!

Just the easy act of keeping our gift giving in mind throughout the year will eliminate so much holiday stress and leave more time to make the holidays fun and enjoyable!

What seductive gift will you be giving your nearest and dearest?

What are you waiting for?

Moll Anderson Wear the Room

Moll Anderson Shares Advice on Wearing the Room

Moll Anderson Wear the Room

For more inspiring Wear the Room photos, check out my book, The Seductive Home™.

Are your home and your wardrobe saying the same thing? You may not realize that your style isn’t just in the clothes and accessories that you wear; your style is also reflected in your home! And if you don’t see your style reflected in your home, you should consider giving your home a makeover so you will be “wearing the room.”

To design your home, you need to know who you are, how you dress, how you live and most importantly, how you dream of living. To create a seductive lifestyle, you and your home need to be the same. If you feel unsure of what your design sense is, take a look inside your closet. Do you gravitate toward a more tailored, classic style or do you choose flowing fabrics of a romantic style? Your wardrobe holds the key to revealing your personal style.

Animal Prints

A touch of animal print is bold and will add sensuality to any room.

If the style you see isn’t what you aspire to, think about what message you do want to send. Experiment with your wardrobe and go shopping! Explore the possibilities outside of your comfort zone. Try on clothes that bring out your inner desires, instead of simply passing them by. Don’t forget about experimenting with accessories that add an extra “wow” to your style. A pair of dazzling, glittering earrings, a hint of alluring animal print, a brightly colored new handbag–there are so many ways to pump up the seductive volume!

Embrace the idea of CPU: Cost Per Use. A brilliant new clutch will look just as beautiful in your hands as it does sitting out on your boudoir table. Don’t employ accessories to one strict definition; sit your most beautiful belongings out to see all the time! The idea is that you will make great fashion choices if you make sure that it not only speaks to you, but can also be used as an accessory in décor.

Handbags as art

Handbags are art!

Once you develop some confidence with a seductive style, you’ll begin to “wear the room.” Create a room that mirrors your desired style and add elements that bring it to life! Accessorizing your room is just like accessorizing your wardrobe.  Make a statement with your accessories and bring the same “wow” to your home’s décor. Now that you understand “wearing the room,” what is an example of a favorite outfit that best expresses how you want your room to look?

Post a photo of your outfit and what room you’d like to incorporate it into and I’ll be happy to share my advice. What are you waiting for?

Moll Anderson Seductive Holiday Table for Two

Moll Anderson Encourages Creating a Holiday Seductive Table for Two

There is no better time to create a seductive table for two than during the holiday season. It’s important to take time after (or before) the family celebrations and give yourself the ultimate gift, a beautifully decorated table set for you and your partner.

Remember that your table doesn’t have to be over the top, just do the best with what you have. Your table for two will serve as a special and intimate place for just the two of you to enjoy one another. Often, couples spend the entire holiday season mulling over travel arrangements or gift buying and forget what is essential—the time spent together!

Moll Anderson Holiday Table for Two

Unique cardholders add a fun element to your Seductive Table for Two™

The best place to start is by finding a small table. Go on a scavenger hunt around your home–I pulled a side table from my formal living area and carried it into the great room and set it front and center. It was the best design decision I’ve ever made because it carved out a space for just my husband and me. Now if you have children, I know this may seem impossible, but remember you absolutely need to do this, even if you pick up the table and place in it your bedroom, a terrace or a patio. The idea is quality time alone.

Place your table in the room so that it feels as if it belongs there; you want it to flow with the décor of your space. You don’t have to decorate with the traditional red or green; there is nothing prettier than a monochromatic vibe. You can choose blue or a metallic is beautiful to use during the season. I chose soft shades of green foliage for my seductive setting.

Moll Anderson Floral Arrangement for Table for Two

A monochromatic floral arrangement is both simple and chic!

Think outside the box when it comes to cardholders! Do you have a favorite ornament or novelty? Let it inspire you. If you look at your trinkets in a new light, you may find you’ve already got a great cardholder and you just didn’t realize it. I love this glittering angular star ornament! I snipped the string, arranged it on our plates, and ended up with a whimsical setting.

The centerpiece was created from tree greenery, a splash of white roses, soft feathers, and a mix of sparkling ornaments. Florals are the most sensual element in pulling a table for two together because they evoke sensory responses through both sight and smell. These extraordinary versatile accessories come in a variety of colors and sizes; perfect for any theme you want your table for two to have! A colored glass vase is also a fun way to add a special decadent detail.

What better way to end the evening than with a gift? It doesn’t have to be extravagant, maybe just a box of delicious chocolate. Finish off your table with a neatly wrapped favor. This small box is tied up with oversized ribbon into a voluminous bow, which is adorned with a dainty bird via hot glue! It’s all about the details!

Wrapped Favor for Table for Two

I love a beautifully wrapped favor.

While readying for the busy time ahead, remember a simple meal shared together is a wonderful gift to your significant other and a splendid way to celebrate the season.

Do you set aside the time to celebrate with your someone? Tell me what you do and share your pictures if you have them. If not, why not?

It’s Time to Be Crafty with Life & Style Expert Moll Anderson!

I can hardly believe it’s November! How time flies! Before we know it, Christmas/Hanukkah/ Kwanza will soon be over and we’ll be ringing in 2012. The holiday season is not just red and green; it’s a time of celebration for all!

I believe we should all take a vow to not let holiday stress bring us down or get caught up in the hustle and bustle of what should be a special time for family. So, let’s make a promise to ourselves to slow down and try to enjoy the special moments that will become forever memories. Having a beautifully, seasonally decorated home is a splendid way to embrace your family and friends; but, perfection isn’t everything. Here are a couple of quick and easy ideas to hopefully alleviate some of your stress.

Holiday Wreath on Front DoorYou only get one chance to make a first impression. Keeping that in mind, your front door speaks volumes not only to your family but also to your neighbors. Your front door makes a statement. So, by hanging a wreath on your front door you’re immediately establishing an inviting energy. Some great ideas when choosing a wreath are traditionally fresh greens with ornaments. Today, you can use everything from grapevine wreaths for a natural country vibe to fresh florals, made of red roses and holly. Wreaths are not limited to just the front door. They easily become the center of attention when placed on your table.

For a no stress arrangement for your table, place a wreath in the center of your table, fill with several candles of various heights, and throw in some ornaments! A finishing touch of fresh greens from your tree and loose feathers will create a great impromptu centerpiece. Remember to use unscented candles so they do not overpower the aromas coming from your delicious dishes whether homemade or carryout. Don’t forget, it’s all about presentation. If you’re celebrating Hanukkah you can add in some cobalt blue and silver balls to your wreath centerpiece.

If you are sharing your home for the holiday, hang wreaths with beautiful, thick ribbon from the top of the doors to guest powder rooms or bathrooms. They will beautifully distinguish those rooms for use, as well as warmly welcome each and every guest.

Holiday gingerbread houseA fun way to get your home looking festive is to have your family join in on the decorating with a gingerbread house party. Adorn the dessert table with decorations that look so delectable you could eat them. Stock up on gingerbread, graham crackers, icing, candy, peppermint, coconut sprinkles, and anything else you will need for the construction process. Remember that you aren’t trying to build the Taj Mahal, just let go and have a good time with your loved ones. Not only will it be a creative way to spend time with your family and friends, but once they are done constructing their houses, you are left with a gingerbread village for everyone to enjoy! Set out your sweets in and around the gingerbread village, and then watch as those sugarplums come to life.

Tell me what your essentials are for decorating your home from holiday to holiday.

Fall into Winter Fashion with Life & Style Expert Moll Anderson

This time of year it is hard not to completely fall for all of the wonderful fall and winter fashions. How could you not? Magazines and stores are gearing up for the buzz of the holidays and all the shopping that follows along. The fashion forward are itching to break out their latest purchases and show off their favorite winter trends.

Fall into Winter Fashion

A bold pop of color, such as this pink scarf, is a perfect addition to give an outdoor table that "WOW" factor.

The style forecast shows shades of rich Bordeaux, enticing enough to make you relax with a glass of red wine and sip away until dawn. Coloring the pages of your favorite fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and InStyle, shades of deep scarlet are gracing everything from eyelids to accessories. Impress your family and friends with gifts inspired from the pages of these glossy magazines. In these hard economic times, sometimes we forget to do something special for ourselves. Go ahead and add a touch of scarlet to your wardrobe. You deserve to wear something that makes you feel ravishing; it is not about extravagance, it’s about simply doing the best with what you have.

If you’re not comfortable dressing head to toe in such a provocative deep color, try a razzle-dazzle scarf in a tone that makes your heart race. It’s a great way to experiment with adding some color into your life. And by investing in a new beautiful scarf, you have not only invested in a new accessory, (think outside the box) you can let the scarf dress your table as a runner instead of hiding it away in a drawer.

Fall into Winter Fashion with Moll Anderson

I used the same bright scarf to create a sensual Moroccan table for two which is featured in my book, The Seductive Home™.

What’s cozy, warm, and a very trendy statement piece? Fur. Adorning everything from handbags to coats, short fox and bold dyed furs in every color of the rainbow are this season’s luxury must-have.

And there is always faux fur. Thanks to Rachel Zoe, some seriously amazing faux fur vests have hit the runway as well as the streets. Even a pair of fur earmuffs or fur-lined boots will bring a blast of “wow” and make you feel fabulous.

I want to know what you’re most excited about wearing this winter season! Is it a new accessory, a classic sweater, new snow boots? Share your thoughts with me!
